Andrew Draayer, who offers homeowners a fast, hassle-free home selling process through his company Andrew The Home Buyer, is expanding operations to Charleston, South Carolina.
This marks the fifth state for the growing business, which already operates in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada and Florida.
Draayer discussed the business’s rapid growth in an interview with Mark Asher, host of “Business For Breakfast” on Money Radio 1510 AM & 105.3 FM.
Andrew The Home Buyer offers homeowners a worry-free alternative to the uncertainty of listing traditionally, typically closing lightning-fast in three to four weeks, with no hassle from banks, commissions or hidden fees.
“I’m not a traditional real estate agent,” Draayer explained. “I like to pay cash and close quickly, where sellers can control the terms of their sale. It just makes things a lot easier.”
Expanding Sales to New Areas On the East Coast
The company’s recent expansion is part of a broader scale-up strategy.
“We’re starting our sixth market,” Draayer told Asher, listing Las Vegas, Denver, Tampa, Tucson and now Charleston among his active markets across five states.
Draayer attributes much of the company’s visibility and success to an aggressive TV and radio advertising campaign that began in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Everybody was home, so they were forced to see me on TV,” he joked.
Transparency and Fair Dealing
Andrew the Home Buyer has built a reputation for transparency and fair dealing, particularly in situations where sellers need to move quickly, such as job relocations, estate sales or senior citizens transitioning to retirement communities.
“We help people move on their timeline and even let them stay in the house for a few weeks after getting their cash,” he said.
Often the homes need a lot of rehab, Draayer said, like cleaning or renovating the bathrooms, kitchen, backyard, flooring or paint.
If a traditional sale would be better for the customer, Draayer said, “we’ll tell you.” Andrew The Home Buyer can connect people with recommended real estate agents.
Warning To Homeowners About Scams
Draayer emphasized the importance of working with a reputable cash home buyer and warned homeowners to be cautious of unsolicited offers.
“Look for a company with solid Google reviews, Better Business Bureau accreditation and a physical office,” he advised. “If someone is pressuring you to sign right away, that’s a red flag.”
Recently, a home buying scam was uncovered in Arizona that targeted families and seniors.
Draayer said his business has lost bids to scammers in the past, even after alerting homeowners to the risk.
“They didn’t believe us,” he said, “and then they came calling and saying, ‘Hey, you were right. Can you help us out?’”
Investing With Optimism
Although the housing market is facing some challenges, Draayer is confident the company can thrive regardless of industry conditions.
“We’re optimistic buyers no matter the times,” he said. “We’re here to help people find the best solution for their home sale.”
